Employment: Internet, Customer Service, Media & Marketing Specialist

Part-Time: Scheduled at 20-hours per week.

Hours: Scheduled to work three days per week, 9:00am-3:30pm.  Thursday and Friday strongly preferred with employee to select other day – emergencies, system outages and equipment malfunctions may require occasional adjustment to hours.

Starting Pay: $16-$19/hour

The City of Waupaca is seeking a motivated, customer-focused individual with an interest in technology, social media, and creativity to join our team. This part-time position offers a wide variety of responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys learning new skills and wants a role where no two days are the same.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist Waupaca Online with the installation, troubleshooting, and removal of internet services for residential and business customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support by phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist the Network Engineer with technical and special projects.
  • Manage and create content for Waupaca Online’s social media platforms.
  • Design marketing and promotional materials using digital tools.
  • Help support the daily operations of Waupaca Online and related community outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • General computer proficiency and comfort working with technology.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and retain minor technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with computer networking is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, ChatGPT, or similar digital content creation tools is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Reliable, responsible and predictable attendance
  • Ability to learn and retain technical concepts; within first six months ability to accurately terminate Cat5 and Cat6 cabling (We will train on this!!!)
  • Ability to safely work with heights including ladders and rooftops
